Valley of Mercy
...is the English translation of a place I visited today, called Gnadenthal . It used to be a nunnery, and its oldest buildings date back to 1589 (see extra).
I granted myself a mini-holiday today, met a dear friend and her husband, and we went for a long walk in the Hintertaunus, through beautiful beech forest and along the little stream that runs through the former nunnery.
After a three-hour walk, we drove to the nearby town of Idstein for a late lunch. It was a lovely day and a much-needed breather in these stressful times.
