"if you give a little love"
Baking wings were on again tonight! Tomorrow, as everyone knows, is Valentine's Day, which means today was the Christmas Eve experience for florists, bakers and possibly even jewellers alike, as those last minute tokens of love were bought for the lucky valentines.
I find the 14th Feb a difficult day for single folk who take time to dwell on it - girls more than guys I would assume. So this year I decided to distract myself in the run up to the day itself and do what I'm good at - bake! Bake not just because there is a 60th birthday to be celebrated but I also re-created the scene from the film Bridesmaids where the baker makes one cupcake just for herself. And voila! My gift to me this Valentines! :)
So to all you romantics out there, enjoy your day tomorrow! I've received my yearly card from mum and dad for the occasion so that's me sorted.
On a side note, apparently cups of tea are now self assembly! A teabag was what my friend decided was a suitable surprise to put in my cake tin upon its return to me today as I now do not accept empty tins back. A token of gratitude must be put in it and for this friend, a cup of tea, or more so the teabag for a cup of tea was their token with the instructions - 'just add water!' Cheek!! But I guess it was better than their original ideas which included a spider (scared of them), snow/ice (not a fan) and even the empty wrappers!
