Chinese remedies in Tobago

Strolling through the local market in Scarborough, the capital of Tobago, this morning I met this guy selling Chinese herbal remedies and many other exotic goodies.

He tries to interest me in an object to create rain. It's a long tubular device filed with beans and if you rattle it then it makes a sound like a tropical rainstorm.

" Use it for the rain dance. Make lots of rain."

" I am from Scotland. The last thing we want is more rain."

Instead I buy a bamboo fan.
