Taps aff!
As they say in Glasgow...but in a completely different context!
For weeks Frank has been investigating where a possible leak could be in the pipes because every so often the water pump went Brrrrm.
I had mentioned to him that there is often a tiny puddle at the base of the kitchen mixer tap. So today the tap was dismantled and sure enough it was worn inside so Frank drove to Merrit & Fryer to buy a new one. He had great difficulty installing it though due to the small space he had to work in. He suffers from Polymyalgia Rheumatica which causes stiff and painful muscles. He recently came off the steroids which did help him but sent his blood pressure sky high. He's now wondering whether to go back on them...
In the background you may be able to see washing hanging on the back deck. After breakfast I went to make the bed and noticed wet black marks on the duvet. My first thought was drips from the skylight. However as I looked around there were more on the floor and in the bathroom. Somehow a bird must have entered through a porthole.
Then I remembered hearing a bird chirping quite loudly while I was eating my granola. As the windows were open I thought it was outside. It must have been frantic but managed to find its way out. Anyway the duvet cover and little red blanket had to be washed and hung out then brought back in when it started bucketing down.
Now it's draped over the table near the stove and nearly dry.
The things that happen!
Not good news at Glasgow Uni. I fear this is just the start. :-(
This virus is not to be taken lightly.
Our daughter-in -law had Covid back in May and is still struggling with breathlessness and fatigue. She's been signed off all this time.
Stay safe ;-)X
