Delighted

Today is the 93rd anniversary of the birth of my mother-in-law. S and I stayed at the beachhouse overnight so that S could spend the morning with her mother, not having to worry about driving up first. Last night she baked a cake, which this morning she iced and then decorated with flowers from the garden.

Three candles were sufficient to mark the occasion, and we sang happy birthday to her. This photo captures her pleasure at our singing, (or perhaps because we had stopped).

More family visited later today (after we had left to collect grandsons from school) and others will come this weekend when not at work.

She is still painting, and on her good days, she is able still to walk through her garden. We have upgraded her old portable CD player to a mini system so that she can enjoy the operas she loves to hear.
