While our backs were turned

Today, being Friday, was fix the world lunch day with my bestie Birgit.

As we sat down at the table on the porch I made comment on a very large and very fat monarch caterpillar that was still munching away on some milkweed.

We then talked about some of the other caterpillars and the chrysalis’ and how they were doing. As we were looking around at the different ones, I pointed out the one caterpillar that was in his J position getting ready for making his chrysalis (left photo)

As we proceeded to eat our lunch and discuss various topics, I happened to look up and where just before there had been a caterpillar, was now a chrysalis! (photo on right) It happened so fast. I know it was really an hour but that’s still fast. It was like he did it while our backs were turned.

How awesome is nature.
