Melancholy Miss Hannah

This image is of a statue in our garden which we named Miss Hannah after a lady we met on holiday in Switzerland when we were on vacation with my single mum as teenagers. She was from a village of Rosemarkie on the coast of the Black Isle in Ross-shire in Northern Scotland and was travelling independently to various countries in Europe and we struck up an instant connection as we are also of Scottish lineage. She was a such a character and we visited at her home when she returned to the UK. When we bought this statue as a gift for my mum we instantly thought she should be named after Miss Hannah (we never addressed her by her christian name).
I took this image through a garden chair (officially called an Acopulco chair). The statue has always had a slightly melancholy air to me and I think this is emphasised by the vertical bands of colour across the image.
On a completely different subject I have two recommendations. One is a TV comedy drama and the other is a film. The TV recommendation is The Duchess on Netflix starring Katherine Ryan. I normally find her slightly annoying due to her ubiquitous appearances on various formats but this is redeemed by some of the best put downs I have ever heard and the brilliant performance by the young actress playing her daughter. The film is the Peanut Butter Falcon starring Shia LeBeouf, Dakota Johnson and a young actor with Downs Syndrome called Zack Gottsagen. Superbly acted by all concerned and with a great soundtrack.
