Boat Pool Bridge

This stone bridge leads into a small 'boat pool' off the Leeds/Liverpool canal near Haigh Hall, in Wigan.
In Victorian times, a local boating club had a boathouse here where members could take boats out onto the canal for leisure. Nowadays the pool is there, but alas not the boathouse or club.
I particularly liked the reflections of light under the bridge.
Mrs B and I enjoyed a bright but chilly early walk around the Haigh Woodland Park just outside town, where Autumn is beginning to show its colours at last!
