Al Seef by night

I didn't get to bed until 3 am so was quite tired through the OaSis Zoom study and beyond. Several hours of afternoon nap time helped sort it out!

G suggested we go for a drive as I hadn't been out for two days. It was around 6 by this time, but still worth it, so we headed to the Creek to find out what's happening there. The dhows are still not back and lots of places are shut judging by how little light there was. We swung by the dhow wharfage and *shock, horror*, DP World has taken over and blocked off access to private cars, so another simple pleasure in life taken away by the authorities.

Back on our side of the Creek, I drove to Al Seef passing the US Consulate. It was interesting to see their flag flying at half mast. I can only guess it is for Ruth Bader Ginsburg lying in state. G suggested parking up and walking a bit. The temperature has dropped significantly, making evening strolls an act of choice again! It wasn't too humid either.

We walked our normal route. So many stores have closed including some once popular restaurants. It's so sad. A few souvenir shops were open and they were selling some items at a ridiculously cheap price. G took the two pictures here... We both love the cart and its placement on a corner, near some rusty fishing nets. The watchtower in the extra is a mock-up of these iconic buildings that were dotted around town, mainly near the Creek. I love how they make it look like a face!

It would have been great to have been there an hour earlier but it's just not how the day worked out. There was time to do the ironing get ready for a new week when we got home. G cooked the most delicious dal and rice.
