Love is in the air...

You may think that this is Eros, the Greek God of Sensual Love - a common misconception. The world's first aluminium statue (Alfred Gilbert, 1893) in Piccadilly Circus is actually Anteros, the God of Selfless Love, who is the brother of Eros. However, the Eros name has stuck, probably because it seems more appropriate for its location on the edge of Soho, London's red light district.
