Logging
They have been busy cutting down some trees in Wharncliffe Woods where we walked this morning. It is obviously a big operation that is not yet finished and is making a mess of the tracks and paths. I like the smell of the freshly sawn wood and it is possible to see clearly now some magnificent old deciduous trees previously hidden by the pines. It was a lovely morning when out of the wind but spoilt by the large numbers of men on trail bikes who are churning up the paths. Those on push bikes have been increasing for a number of years but they have now been joined by motorbikes as well. There are designated spaces for both groups. Why can't they respect the woodlands and nature reserves and stay in those areas set aside for them?
