Under the weather

Daisy was showing signs of the beginnings of an ear infection yesterday. I phoned the vet as they had a Saturday surgery but there were no appointments available until Monday. Thinking that that would be fine I booked that. But overnight the infection really came out and poor Daisy's ear was bright red and she kept shaking her head in discomfort. So another phone call to the vet and they agreed to see her this morning. Because of the Covid rules, I was not allowed in with her, and the vet took her from me at the car park. Daisy's ear was too inflamed for the vet to look properly so she had to be sedated for a thorough examination. Because of that I had to leave her there, but it was only for 90 minutes. She has some special gel now inside her ear which lasts for a week. She has to been seen again next Saturday to see if further gel is needed. Poor Daisy she was a bit shell shocked and has been sleeping most of the day.
