Grey

Another grey and miserable day. Lacking inspiration for a photo I settled for a highly unoriginal, long exposure, groyne shot… and then spent a large part of the day attempting to make it look good. I’ve quite enjoyed it really, trying out new processing ideas and generally learning.

In other news, it seems our government moves closer to authoritarianism. It has “ordered schools in England not to use resources from organisations which have expressed a desire to end capitalism”. It states a desire to overthrow capitalism as an “extreme political stance”. I’m unsure how students are supposed to learn about the UK’s diverse political history under these constraints. Ironically, under the same “extreme political stance” label, it also lists “opposition to freedom of speech” and “the use of racist, including antisemitic, language”. Such are the times we live in.
