Sally Mair - Loving life

Mum

Sunday today and I didn't go to church again but stayed with mum in law. We had coffee in the garden, she's looking good, she's going to be 98 on Christmas Day and as she says, she has most of her 'facilities'!
We escaped the early frost which affected many folks last night, so the garden is still looking good. I've had an excellent bean and courgette crop after a late start for both. They're still going strong too. After hearing of a couple of peoples' successes at propagating roses , I'm going to have a go with my Albertine which I put in a couple of years ago. It's got a couple of good strong branches which need to be pruned so will provide good cuttings.
Thanks Ali and I had been going to meet for coffee this afternoon, but as I really don't want to risk any contacts at the moment we had coffee in their garden instead. Safely distanced and with accompanying goodies from Mimis which were delicious but expensive. Cake prices seem to have risen dramatically in the last few years. It was lovely to catch up though and warm in the sunshine. They've done so well with their house and garden, if only they had a kitchen!
Home again and I took to my bed with a headache, it improved after a quiet couple of hours thank goodness.
Colin cooked dinner, roast chicken with all the trimmings which was delicious and I then headed down to Katy's to sleep over. She is on nights and won't be home till around 10.30am while Jon has to leave for work before 6am. I'll be there to get the girls up and take them to school and nursery. We've been as careful as we can. I didn't arrive till after 9pm. I've brought my own pillows, downie and bedding to minimise any risk as Katy sleeps in the spare bed during the day when she's on nights as it is quieter and frees up their room.

Keep safe everybody, things are hopefully going to improve if we take extra care just now.

Steps today, 5800
