Flying high!
We finally got around to taking Mayson for his promised flight in David’s plane! He loved it! It wasn’t his first time, but it’s been quite a while since he’s been up in air.
Unfortunately the destination was a bit stressful! We have flown to this pit barbecue restaurant a few times before COVID and really enjoyed it, but this time was a huge disappointment!
First of all, we decided to walk the couple of miles from the airport to the restaurant, rather than take the risk of riding in the shuttle with a driver without a mask. It was a lovely sunny day, though on the warm side, which would have been fine except that the sign to the restaurant took us to a dead end! So after calling the restaurant to ask about the misleading sign, and receiving no apology, we walked an extra mile or so back to the right road! By this time we were hot and bothered!
When we arrived at the restaurant, none of the staff and only the occasional customer was wearing a mask despite the signs saying that it was recommended. In fact it is mandated by the state here! When we asked about this, they said that it was optional! We wanted to walk out and go elsewhere but this was out in middle of the country and no other restaurants in walking distance and by this time we were quite hungry!
So we ate out on the patio with fresh air blowing past us cooling us down and hopefully blowing away any lurking viruses!
C’est la vie!
