Catbells and Derwentwater

We are back in the Lakes for a week of walking and hopefully photography. Today did not start well as I took a wrong turning to get to the start of our walk and ended up on the wrong side of the mountain. Doing a U turn was impossible as the road was too narrow so we adapted our walking plan with the intention of picking up our route at the point in the photograph.  All went well until one of our party felt uncomfortable whilst climbing the hill so we abandoned our planned route and made our way down the hill to the lakeside path and eventually back to the car.  Highlight of the day (apart from the glorious September weather) was afternoon coffee and cake at a very good cafe.

PS - Our friend is fine, just not used to walking up hills.
