Papyon...Çok çok guzel!

Bow-tie Thursday was a success...over 30 students wore bow-ties to school. It was fantastic. What started off as a silly idea is turning into a fashion revolution ( a small one-but one nonetheless). I am thankful for the fun bow-ties bring. I have over 40 pictures of the MUNers and my own students wearing them. I couldn't decide who should be the photo of the day. I decided that this bow-tie represents all the bow-ties I saw today.

The funny thing is that I am sincerely thankful for the bow-tie. Not only is it fashionable- but it is a small connection I have with new friends of mine. On the Boston trip, bow-tie day was probably the 1st day I felt honestly connected to the group (silly I know). It was something shared between us Syrians, Iroquois Indians, Presidents, and Japanese delegates... it was a moment of small connections.

And when I saw the group today during the twenty minute break-it brought back good memories. When I saw my students in class wearing them- it made me think that this "bow-tie Thursday" is really just an unorthodox way of bringing people together (in a really trendy and fashionable way). The bow-tie is a bridge.

My goal is to have over 150 people wear a bow-tie on "bow-tie" Thursday by the end of the year.

The small things that bring people together...I am very thankful for that.
