Kowhai flower.

This is a native Kowhai flower. I have a large tree at my gate- there is a carpet of yellow everywhere. I picked this up hoping it could be a blip. We have had a very cold wind/gale blowing all day. Not doing the spring garden any good. Haven't had the snow and rain other parts of the country have had.
