Drizzle
It drizzled all day today so I had to cancel a provisional walk and couldn't get out into the garden either. Lots to catch up on indoors, but I didn't feel like it, so instead I worked on a jigsaw and watched some tennis.
Day 198 / Full Day 190 of Lockdown / Day 16 of Rule of Six (for my record only)
UK deaths up 71 to 42,072 and nearly double last Tues (revised basis), with new daily cases up by 7,143 (no's spike after weekend) and with 2,049 patients in hospital (up 55% in a week). ONS reports 139 deaths mentioning Covid on the death certificate in a week, up from 99 the previous week. 4 more areas in North Wales are being put into local lockdown, that's now most of Wales. I listened to interesting programmes about Long-Covid today which worryingly is causing problems with lungs, heart, liver, kidneys and leaving people with 'brain fog' and is mainly affecting those not ill enough to have been in hospital, yet current studies only look at those hospitalised. The PM called for radical changes to address Britain's skills shortage and boost the post-Covid economy and end the bogus distinction between practical and academic learning. A scheme will allow some adults in England to study at college for free from next April.
