Carrots and parsnips
Following my blip a few days ago (burying root vegetables in sand) here it is, not quite as I imagined. The organic roots arrived yesterday and they look very good although we now think a box of garlic would have done us well. Another time.
John has dug the dustbin into the ground and has has layered the carrots and parsnips into sand poured into a plastic bucket, (I thought the sand would sit directly into the dustbin). I now have to ask him about the surrounding space, is that safe from frost or will it need filling? You might think we live in a different zone, no but things slip from the mind if not spoken immediately. The pattern over the top isn’t a whim, the bin lid has this design on the inside, who knew that?
The kale is looking good, something else thinks so too, it’s a battle as to who gets there first. The camera wasn’t set right, that or I do need that eye test booked next Monday.
