Warp Space

Not everyone's cup of tea I imagine. Distortion from a narrow depth of field, enhanced by a telephoto lens and extension tube, leave me with a feeling of a slice in time. The image has a different kind of contrast due to changes in the level of detail moving from out of focus to in and back again.

The weathered branch, obviously there for a long time, still grows despite the tree collapsing. What, I wonder, has passed it by during all those years? Cracks and warping are evidence of the stresses it endured.
