Hoary Ragwort
A day spent mostly at home, doing some general garden tidying. There are still plenty of flowers, including quite a few wild ones, many of which, such as red Campion and Oxe-eye Daisy, are blooming for a second time. The starry yellow flowers of Hoary Ragwort add a splash of colour and look rather nice backed by the pinkish flower-heads of Ice-plant. Both species are a welcome source of nectar and pollen for autumn bees and hoverflies.
Alex was away for the weekend, so Pete, Ben, Sarah and I settled into the autumn vibe with a delicious roast chicken dinner (cooked with lemon, garlic and rosemary), eaten while while watching the first episode of Bake Off!
