Any old oak

We took a run down to Obi at Arezzo for shelving in the Duster 4x4. A soft grey day with a boisterous southerly wind. We bought two sets of workshop shelves, an olive harvesting net, two olive crates, wire, four types of rubbish bag, an extendable duster, sponges, a bonsai tree, a gift, a pot of mint and a compost caddy.

Putting the second set of shelves together involved considerable swearage, banging with a rubber mallet and voluble complaint at poor flange stamping.

Did I say we’re watching the West Wing again. Just got to Series 2 and the assassination attempt. Still so terribly gripping. And then this morning’s news. One might say that the apple rolls not far from the tree.

I’ve been collecting up strayed firewood. This oak from a tree i felled 18 months ago.
