RED ALERT

The National Hospital illuminated in red....
(No, it's not because it's Valentine's day or some such nonsense.)
Actually, I have no idea why it's lit up red like that except in my eyes it spells WARNING! RED ALERT!
The Nurses assc. of Iceland have been demanding better pay for their hard work for a while now, all cumulating in the salary negotiations taking place today.
Whatever the nurses/government end up agreeing on is IMHO WAY too low a pay for anyone who has to do what nurses do on a daily basis... and then the government and news make it out almost as if the nurses are the ones being unreasonable asking for DECENT pay for their hard work!
Sometimes I just don't GET how this barren rock of a country even functions as a society.... *sigh* :(
