Coconut pyramids
Today is the 201st day since we put ourselves into a degree of lockdown in March and I started counting. Unbelievable. Thank goodness we didn't know how long it would last.
This morning I was chairing our Cursillo AGM which had been causing me some angst. Having said that, I slept well, unaided, last night.
The AGM went well, which was a relief never having fine or attended a meeting like this on Zoom before. The only hiccup was when when I muted myself while screen sharing a YouTube clip so nobody could hear anything (lesson learned). Once that was sorted all went well. We're getting a good team together, looking good as we go forward into our next year.
I thought I'd make a bit of an effort for the meeting, to make me feel good as I was chairing our. So for the first time in over 6 months I put on some eye make up, blusher and lipstick. Both of my daughters noticed. Katy asked if somebody had done my makeup during our WhatsApp this afternoon and Ali told me I was looking nice when she came round later on! I must do it more often.
I decided after the meeting to make our Christmas cake having soaked the fruit in brandy last night. All went smoothly, so that's had its 4 hours in the oven and we now have a cake. All I need is somebody to eat it now. I saw the Christmas food order leaflets in Sainsburys yesterday and I just thought, gosh, how many do I order /plan for?
I put some chocolate onto the coconut pyramids that I made yesterday as requested by Ali. The main blip is them au naturel the extra with Belgian chocolate drizzled over the top. She picked them up later in the day and they thoroughly enjoyed them. As they are one of my early childhood memories, including the rice paper, I think mum would be pleased with me!
Next task was the housework, hoovering, clearing the bed etc now that m in law has gone home. All is now tidy and organised.
Ali popped by later in the afternoon to pick up her baking and washing. Nice to see her but we weren't able to have a garden cuppa as it hasn't stopped raining all day!
Couldn't be bothered cooking this evening, so tucked into a take away sweet and sour chicken. Just what I wanted.
Keep safe and well everybody and stick to the rules, that way, hopefully we'll be able to have our Christmas celebrations.
Steps today are not worth recording
