Why so beautiful?

Ha! I took this to capture the misery, the soddeness, the cold, wet, Octoberness. Today I cycled in the pouring rain. Yesterday was too beautiful and I didn't stop to snap this tree - I whizzed on by, knowing I had my blip but acknowledged it.

Today was miserable and sad. I stopped, wanting a photo to show the rain.

Yet when I look, this is a beautiful shot and the rain is hardly visible.

How does the camera see this so differently?
