Off fishing

I asked Max what he would like to do today hoping he might suggest playing something or perhaps the park. First he asked again if we could go to the beach. I explained it was a very long journey to the beach and he said “that’s okay mummy, I don’t mind a long journey let’s just go.”
I explained we wouldn’t be able to go and get back on time to get Anya from school so he opted for going fishing instead, which we have never done and have nothing to fish with.
Luckily he was happy with a random stick as a rod and the ducks for company by the river.
