Hashtag HorrorHatingWife
My Dear Princess and Dear Fellows,
As you know, I now have my hashtag HorrorFam to keep informed of my doings, as well as you lot.
Of course, they get only a subset of what I tell you on here. And it is all related to horror movies and to FFS getting some more podcast listeners.
But lately I have been sharing a bit more about my life. Mainly about my #HorrorHatingWife so they understand why I can't be watching horror movies 24/7.
She has become quite popular. And sometimes the TwitterSphere even suggests "light" movies that #HorrorHatingWife would like. It is quite sweet.
Caro, for her part, does try. Today she watched "The Wolf Man" with me. Not the old Lon Chaney Junior movie, that would be a step too far, but the remake from about 10 years ago. She even enjoyed it.
It is a little frustrating for me, because I spent YEARS training up Soozle, who also claimed to hate horror movies when we first met. But I explained them to her and, over a period of 13 years, turned her into a horror movie LOVER.
No, really. I remember her telling me early on, how she had been traumatised by a DISGUSTING film called, "The Brood". Ten years later, and she LOVED that film.
I am REALLY good at explaining.
However, my explanations have had less impact on Caro. Twenty years later, and I wouldn't even dream of putting "The Brood" on the telly for her. But she did like "Ready or Not" lately, and I'm thinking "Dog Soldiers" could be our next step.
After all, Caro has got me into watching house renovation programmes and "Murder, She Wrote". Quid pro quo. It seems only fair.
S.
