El Chorro National Park

Arrived in Malaga this morning and headed straight out to Valie de Abdalajis in the mountains to the north. The sky was blue and the sun was warm verging on hot. After an hour of sunbathing Earthdreamer and myself took a short drive around to El Chorro and a walk into the mountains across from the little villa where we are staying.

Almond trees were in blossom. Citrus trees were laden with fruit. There was lavender already in bloom and wild sage, agave and wild irises carpeted around the trail we were walking. Stunning scenery all around with little fincas stumbled upon at every turn, eking out a living in the past, and still the present, from small scale fruit and nut cultivation.

This evening we found a nearby restaurant to enjoy a fine celebratory meal of local traditional food.
