A new assistant!

A friend of ours, David Fairchild, asked me if i'd make a plaque for his sister's grave.....when i said i'm rubbish at writing on clay, and frankly dislike the process....he offered to come and do it himself!!!  So here he is, writing the inscription for his sister's plaque.   Such a lovely thing to do and i am glad i was able to make this offer to him!   i'll fire them (we did 2 just in case) and glaze them....he'll bring me a couple of bottles of red wine!  fair exchange i'd say.

I'm always intrigued with the connections here in Baddeck, of all the Bell descendants....David is also a great grand child of Alexander Graham Bell......there are many many branches on this big tree!  He was able to simplify if for me a bit!   He is the grandson to Daisy (one of the Bell daughters) and some of the others i have met are descended from Elsie!   Aleck, who the big dinner set is for is an 'Elsie'....and David is a 'Daisy'....this is actually how a lot of them refer to each other!!  kinda fun!

Another glorious day here....but with some crazy weird inexplicable situation...the A cabin has lost power and water.....and we've lost our water!!!!   no idea what has happened.... we have power in the house and the studio...but no water!  If ever there was a time for WTF....this is it!  hopefully Terry will get it figured out...soon!
