After the Snow

I couldn't believe my eyes when driving through a nearby village I saw quite a lot of apples still clinging to the branches of the tree. We went back today for another look. Sure enough there are still apples up there which is quite amazing after the frosts and snow we have had this winter. However, my eye strayed to the foot of the tree where there were so many in various stages of decay.
