Tuesday: Penthouse

K. and I had a rare treat tonight and went to the cinema for the first time since January.  We went to see ‘Ammonite’, starring Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan, at the Vancouver Film Festival.  It was all done very correctly - only 50 seats sold, designated seating only and masks mandatory.

Absolutely loved the film - it felt very intense and was beautifully shot.  Winslet was a revelation.  Her portrayal of Mary Anning was really moving.  It’s definitely left an impression. 

We were a little early so went for a walk which took us past the ‘Penthouse’, a nightclub since 1947.  I’ve wanted to photograph their signage for some time.
