The Trevor Woodburn Bridge
Named after the local man who proposed in 1998, a foot bridge over the River Brathay just north of the Skelwith Force waterfall. It's a work of art, built and designed by Furness based architectural metalworker Chris Brammall and finally installed in 2007. I have a fondness for bridges, it's the first time I've crossed it and knew immediately it would be the Blip of the day after a delightful 6.5km ramble with the Tuesday Run girls up to Elterwater and back through Fletchers Wood. The queue for the Chesters cafe was ridiculously long so we ate lunch in The Talbot Inn. We had to sit inside because it was raining but the tables were well separated and the waitresses insisting on "safe" behaviours.
We walked as a group of 5 in line with English Rule of 6 laws but not in the line with the poorly publicised Cumbria Council advice that 3 of our group had not heard of. The Council are concerned about cases in the 17 to 29 year group and in care homes. We agreed we did not fall into these high risk groups and were happy manage our own risk .
