Aniseed Cockleshell/ Lentinellus cochleatus
Went for a circular walk across the farm and back by the lanes. On one section of the lane some dangerous overhanging trees had been removed because of the risk of their hitting the power lines. Most of the stumps had mounds of this fungus growing by them. I hope I have identified it correctly! The Aniseed Cockleshell apparently smells of aniseed and it is inedible.
Spent the evening with E and B watching some crazy programme on TV and sipping Baileys salted caramel and eating chocolates!
