The Old Cross

Situated on the village green in Ryton which is about 5 miles from where I live.  I used to go to school in Ryton and the cross was depicted on the badge of my school blazer.

We also went for a walk to Ryton Willows, a local nature reserve on the banks of the Tyne - see extra photo.  As far as I am aware there are no willows there but maybe there were in the past.
