Targets

I set myself a target each year of fifty-two books to read, one a week. I try to vary the books, biographies, military history and nautical are my preferred choices but in between I like a novel, easy reading, Jack Reacher or Ben Hope style.
Today I finished D Day by Anthony Beevor, bit of a slog but enjoyable nonetheless.
All I need to do now is not stay up half the night reading.

Today’s photo is another from Friday, Plymouth Hoe from beneath standing out is Smeaton’s Tower, the former Eddystone Lighthouse. The other monument on the left is the top of the Royal Naval Memorial. Following WWI it was decided that the three RN manning ports in Great Britain - Chatham, Plymouth and Portsmouth - should each have an identical memorial of unmistakable naval form, an obelisk, which would serve as a leading mark for shipping. They were expanded following WWII and the Plymouth one has in excess of 23,000 names of the fallen.
