The Kiltwalk

The Kiltwalk picture "Landmark" challeng

OK it's my fault!! I challenged you all and now the avalanche has begun and I have to say I'm loving it.

So what am I talking about?

Remember I posted a Blipfoto Journal the other day with me posing, as best I could, in my Kiltwalk T-shirt on Top of the Rock? It was the one with downtown Manhattan and Empire State building in the background and threw out the challenge which was "OK you lot get your t-shirts on and go and pose in front of a landmark building and beat my picture".

Well it turns out "you've been good for it" as we have some fantastic pictures, all of which we'll share with you however it would appear that first out the blocks were Jo and Niki who, quicker than you could say "Kiltwalk Challenge" had got the t-shirts out the washing, scrambled the kids in the car and headed off to Stirling Castle, as you do.

Today's Blipfoto is a picture of half of our deadly duo and shows Niki in all her glory attempting "star jumps" with the castle in the background.

Stirling Castle, is one of the largest and most important castles, both historically and architecturally, in Scotland and sits atop Castle Hill (no I'm not making it up). It is surrounded on three sides by steep cliffs, giving it a strong defensive position which made it an important fortification from the earliest times.

Things you many not know about the castle are that several Scottish Kings and Queens have been crowned at Stirling, including Mary, Queen of Scots and Stirling Castle, unlike Niki who is modeling it for us today, is a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

Niki and Jo are currently deep in conversation about how their Kiltwalk training is going and in fact "talk" about it most nights, however the problem seems to be that "talking" with a wine glass in their hand, is all they seem to be doing about it!! :-)

And for those of you who think, "wait a minute, I know her, but isn't there something missing" then you'd be right. Niki usually has an Everton flag draped around her shoulders and tears in her eyes saying "I'm never taking part in The Kiltwalk again" only to register for 2013 three days after the end of the 2012 event. Talk about will power eh?

Jo, don't worry as you'll be appearing in our "Landmark" gallery shortly, I'm just deciding whether to use the embarrassing picture, or the really embarrassing picture :-)

Good luck with the training ladies and see you at Hampden.
