Avon Theatre

I lived in France for two years many moons ago and have since tried to keep up my linguistic skills with French radio and tv. I thought it might be difficult to find sources for listening to and watching French in the U.S.

The Avon Theatre reminds me of The Dominion Cinema in Edinburgh: the kind of place that still makes it feel special to go to the movies. Some would say old-fashioned. I would say 'class'.

When I first moved over to Stamford,CT last March, I often went to matinee shows. I then discovered they showed French movies. The Avon, in partnership with the Alliance Francaise of Greenwich, shows a French movie each month. Now that I'm back for good, and once things calm down music-video wise, I look forward to getting to know the AF in Greenwich. For now, it'll be monthly matinee shows.

'Amour' is currently showing. If anyone has seen it, do let me know.
