Cook Strait

We spent the last day of our holiday in the sounds moored at the back of Motuora Island, waiting for the wind to die down for the Cook Strait crossing. The only thing protecting you from Cook Strait is this line of rocks. The island is a bird sanctuary - so we had the perfect combination of sun, calm mooring, beautiful scenery and wondrous bird song.
