After we came home from B's eye hospital appointment I left him at home and found some lovely lanes and paths to explore only a couple of miles from home, with farmland against a background of the sea. As I walked to the edge of this field I surprised four partridges (does four make a covey?) which whirred off to the other side, and there were quite a few pheasant around too.

I picked up some copies of our local "good news" paper which has the story about my competition success (extra). It's a bit exaggerated in that it wasn't "top prize" and there wasn't an actual prize, and they had checked that with me, but they left in the bit about me being a blipper, so I'm pleased about that.
