Bexley Square
This is Bexley Square in Salford and in 1931 it was the location of the 'Battle Of Bexley Square' where 10,000 workers from the Salford Branch of the National Unemployed Workers Movement clashed with police. That's a lot of people in a not particularly large square!
These days it the home of the side entrance to the School Of Electronic Music as well as a fab restaurant called Porta and a lovely pub called the New Oxford, which is where I met Hannah for a drink, this evening, after a couple of hours in the studio.
Later on, we walked across to Scene in Spinningfields for a curry with Charlie. Despite the recent family bereavement and a definite sadness, they were both great company, as usual, and I was glad to have some time with them to reassure myself that they were OK.
