Continue or turn back?

This is where the satnav took me!  A nice country road, early morning, no traffic so I'm travelling along quite fast but quickly came to a halt when I reached this point.  I'm guessing its more or less permanently flooded. 

I decided to turn back and take a different route.  Maybe you would have continued.

Its very deep off to the left hand side but on studying the picture I think I could have continued o.k.
