Lots of heavy showers this morning and a rainbow which I photographed from the bedroom window. It failed to make it as far as blip.
During an afternoon wander at White Moss I found myself at eye level with an acorn. It had to be blipped.
When I drove into my usual parking area up the back road I got a shock. After years of free parking the new landowners are now charging. £2.50 for an hour then 40p for every additional 20 minutes. No pay machine, just ANPR and instructions to pay online within 48 hours. I drove out and parked in one of the small bays on the roadside. The gates on the adjoining woodland still say National Park Authority - Walkers Welcome. I hope the new owners (Lowther Estates I think) will retain access rights.
