Banana tree

I noticed this banana tree in a garden in the village and was amazed to see it actually has bananas on it. It's in a sheltered south-facing sunny spot - there's no way it would survive in my garden!
The purple flowers surrounding it are rather nice - I think it's a Mexican petunia bush, which have become popular here in the last few years.
