Bubbles for Valentine's
We had a very pleasant drive out of the city, over the Great dividing range on the Cunningham Highway to the Southern Downs. We stopped at a very interesting town called Warwick- full of old buildings and quaint shops. Another stop at Stanthorpe for lunch- my daughter recommended the Queensland College of wine Tourism restaurant and it was a great find, delicious food and a complimentary glass of bubbly!
Another short drive and we visited a winery called Rumbalara- the couple who own it are south african so we just had to! Delicious wine of which we bought a few bottles, but we loved these recycled wine glasses with the offset stems- they are made in Swaziland from broken bottles- so unusual.
We then travelled on to ballandean to book into our vineyard cottage- so cosy and pretty with lovely views of the mountains. A glass of bubbly was called for before we went for our evening meal!
Hope you all had a lovely Valentine's day!
