Dawn
Walking buddy today was Dawn who I met back in 1991 when I first came to Edinburgh aged 21 and her 19 and worked alongside each other for many years.
One of those friends that I see once or twice a year and immediately pick up the conversation from the time before. Effortless
So a wee flat walk round Harlaw reservoir swapping our Lockdown stories. She won, her husband is a taxi driver so income virtually zero and worsened with the new measures as no pub drinkers needing taxis, nobody visiting houses, he literally sits at the airport for the few fares and more often than not comes home at a loss. For a 58 year old nearing retirement... its these little miseries that make you realise how pervasive Covid has been for so many people. Everyone has a loss.
Picked up the kids from school as they enter their fortnight October holidays, Home for a big chicken and chorizo casserole and finished The Fall with mini magnums.
Disappointed with the third series, more Casualty than the usual gripping drama and spent a lot of time thinking how does Gillian Anderson look so perfect even when spattered in blood and how does she walk in those heels.
Packed for tomorrow’s Duke of Edinburgh March in the Pentlands which with a teen was all a bit stressy as to what comprised a medical kit!
