Valentines day
We don't do valentines it's lovely if you do but we just don't. We like to look after each other all year round not just on a specific day. But what we do do (double do's always make me smile - such a child) is date night. It's supposed to be one night a week - but I'm never entirely sure which night we pick as I love every night with my hubby very much. Every night is date night
We almost didn't go out with it being valentines but we decided the big V was not going to affect us so date night it was. And what an awesome date night we strode out hand in hand. We had our first experience of a Nandos. It was rammed. Lots of loved up youngsters - all dressed the same but searching for their own identity (my middle aged chip rearing its head)Husband was a tad shocked at the self service styli but we went with it.
The main came approximately 30 seconds after the desert. It's was a challenge to eat everything in one go but we rose to it. A lady on the next table dropped her salt pot which was ceramic and broke in half. I told her she needed to throw a pinch over her shoulder for luck. Well she grabbed a proper handful so I felt it only right to let her know there was a young girl on the table behind right in the firing line.
There was a HUGE mix of all sorts of people. Top place for a bit of people watching. I had not put my hearing aids in and had to ask the waitress twice what she had said - I was convinced she asked what we wanted for desert - we were still eating our starter and mains combined.
After our glorified macdonalds (I mean Nandos) we had a half hour wait on the sofas in the cinema foyer we tried to buy our tickets at the machine but twice we got to the pay by card stage and the machine literally screamed at us card declined - it seemed louder the second time and didn't want the embarrassment of trying a third - we spent most of the time trying to remember what we had come to see three weeks ago (gangster squad) and discussing why my husband had bought chocolate buttons when he paid for the tickets at the counter fourrrrrrr pounds for buttons. FOURRRRRRR POUNDS what a soft prat.
We chose to see I give it a year. I have to note that so that in another three weeks I can look back and remember without the twenty minute brain storming sesh we had to go through to remember last time.
The film is absolutely fabulous a true belly laughing bit of daftness and I thought all the actors were fab
We skipped home (not literally I still have a bad back) even s few cheeky kisses on the way and on the way past our lovely neighbours Italian Carlos collared us and presented us with a heart shaped red mini box of chocolates And Carmen came out for a kiss and chat. They were chocca with couples out for the big V. How lovely. What lovely people.
We have had an awesome date night. We have laughed and kissed and laughed some more.
A splendid week made even more fabulous with it being that much celebrated date in our house of pancake day plus this awesome fun night. AND the weather report says we might hit 10 degrees tomorrow. It's all too much.
Thank you husband for an awesome week I do love you my best friend.
