Gorge and fungus

I rarely get the old Nikon out these days, except as platform for a very long lens. My phone has a better lens and creates larger files. My phone has died and the replacement (with an even better lens) arrives in two days. So here's a photo I took last Wednesday.  With me so far?

This is a path I walk often, and here we stand at the lip of a fairly deep gorge with a stream at the bottom. There are points along here where you have to walk carefully, to avoid stumbling down the really steep slope.

Today (that's still last Wednesday) I heard the sound of running water in the stream for the first time in a long time. After the previous weekend's torrential rain, hardly surprising.
