Thanksgiving 2020

What a lovely gathering we had!   Started around 5.30 pm with fabulous appetizers made by MaryJane, wow, what a delicious spreed we had!  Then of course the chaos ensues.....Terry dealing with the 'bird' and the gravy, and the stuffing....all hands on deck as they say!  it was nothing short of miraculous as everyone pitched in and we got the whole meal together.  then of course i had everyone wait a bit longer....we had to have the annual event recorded!   And it was lovely to have old friends around the table and now to welcome new friends...Holly....Randy's new partner!   Such a lovely gathering of wonderful folk.

Also had a busy day in the studio, loading a kiln and dealing with some lovely customers.

I have to make note of a very powerful experience for me in my studio.  It's not often that i find myself brought to tears while dealing with a customer...but today that happened!!!  Very long story short:  a lovely woman, Cindy (who just happens to be from Edinburgh!!!) noticed the very last square box that Terry made a few years ago...it's been sitting on the shelf for the past 4-5 years!   Well, she was so drawn to it, and an interesting exchange took place between her and her daughter.....there was a vibe that felt very deep going on....she decided she had to have this box!   i ventured forth and ask why!   Her husband, who is about 62, has a brain tumor and they don't know who long he has.....and she bought this box to keep his ashes in when the time came!  WOW.....talk about powerful emotions going on!   i was thrilled that she felt so compelled to buy this piece....Terry was very moved also when i told him what was to become of his jar!   The other interesting thing is this box was inscribed with I Ching motives for Joy and Fulfillment.....Cindy was so overjoyed with this discovery....it's hard to explain just how precious that moment was for me!  We had a very heartfelt hug at the end of the interaction!

Another day well lived for sure!~
