Blean Church
This is St Cosmus and St Damian the Parish Church of Blean rebuilt before 1233 by order of the king on a much earlier site. As is common there is a Commonwealth War Graves plaque at the gate and I found the grave of Private Fisher. Hampshire Regiment, who died in1940 aged 42. This was my father's generation and I am always much touched by those lives cut short.
The down up down up walk from here to the University is Sunday Lunch walk. I time the oven to come on while out and it's G&T time when we get home. Roast lamb today. Speaking of which . . .
